One of the last weddings I shot last year was Melinda and Michael’s lovely ceremony at St Pauls in East Brisbane.

When I met this couple, I knew it was going to be a very chilled wedding.

I was right.

I get the feeling that nothing much fazes these two… not even the bridal car getting a flat tyre on the way to the church.

Nope. Not even…

“sorry we’re late dad… we got a flat…!”

After the ceremony we headed down to Kangaroo Point for some photos before making our way to the Polo Club for the reception.

What a lovely relaxed day this was. Congratulations to you both!

Janai and Joel exchanged vows at the beautiful St Stephen’s cathederal last month in a very romantic ceremony that involved a seriously cute bridesmaid, a fun bridal party, a loving family and a most FANTASTIC pair of shoes…

I knew when I saw these shoes that I was in for a great day…!

The afternoon continued into the evening at one of my favorite reception venues – Customs House.

ok so this is a very random post from me… no beautiful brides, handsome grooms or gorgeous fotoartista girls, not even a flower or seedpod.

Just a guy riding a motorbike.

(albeit the most exquisitely designed and possibly the most artfully crafted machines I’ve ever seen)

Perhaps this isn’t for everyone… bikes may not be your thing and this bike in particular may not be your style… but this clip totally resonates with me not purely because of my longstanding love affair with my own motorbike (a particularly beautiful moto-guzzi 850T for those interested) but because the pure LOVE and passion this guys has for what he does.

not only an amazing lady in her own right, but a sassy sixty-something mother and grandmother…

these photos tell the story of a wonderfully soft yet powerfully feminine woman.

As with most of my fotoartista clients, Genevieve assured me that she looked terrible in photos and I would have my work cut out for me…

What can I say…? except I believe a little bit of magic happens in my studio during these shoots

Tracey and Charles make a lovely lovely couple as you can see

there were two tea ceremonies to start off the day

(with just a couple of tears)

and then lots of smiles during the lovely midday wedding at the Stamford Plaza.

This is the delightful and uber talented Sarah Collyer from last week’s Random Portrait. She is busy recording her second LP and needed some album cover shots. I suggested a FOTOARTISTA type shoot which was a winner I’d say…

I can’t tell you how much I love doing these shoots… (I think you can tell…)

…and I absolutely ADORE photographing Sarah… you can probably see why
