October (part 1)

Ah yes, the Jacaranda’s are blooming and love is in the air…

On the 6th October I headed up to Marcoola beach to see Kristin and Dan exchange vows at a beautiful spot just near the beach. First though, I got some shots of Dan and the boys at the appartment at Maroochydore where they were getting ready. After some expert instruction from Dan,

the ties were tied and the guys were ready to go. Kristin’s bridesmaids looked gorgeous in blue, and were definitely relaxed and having fun whilst Kristin got the finishing touches to her makeup.

We got some fun photos of the girls and some great shots of Kristin on the balcony with the wind adding some fine drama…

(Oh I do love my new 10.5mm fisheye lens…!)

Then it was on to the ceremony and plenty more dramatic shots on the beach…

It was a truly beautiful day, with a very special couple…

The 16th of October saw us heading out to Mt. Tamborine again for the wedding of Cathy and Lawrence at the Tamborine Gardens chapel. We started out photographing the guys at the St Bernard’s Hotel. We found we had a bit of time on our hands before the guys arrived, and so made friends with a local…

So after getting some fun shots of the guys, we headed over to see just how nervous Cathy was feeling. Quite nervous I’d say, but she doesn’t seem to show it in the photos…

The ceremony went off without a hitch, though that does look like Aiden might be showing his disapproval by covering his eyes whilst Cathy and Lawrence kiss…

We spent the rest of the afternoon taking lovely shots of Cathy and Lawrence around the gardens (and sorry Aiden, they kissed some more…)

It was a lovely relaxed afternoon, and great for me to catch up with some familiar faces –

I took Kym and Chris’ wedding photos back in 2003!

Which takes us up to last Friday the 19th October, when we headed for Pepper’s Hidden Vale to witness Sophie and Phillip come out to Australia from Germany to exchange vows in front of many of their closest friends from all around the world. We got some lovely shots of them in the perfect Australiana setting –

It was a pleasure to be a part of such a beautiful day, and with a such beautiful couple.

It was also great to catch up with one of my favorite celebrants too – Anne Campbell. If you’re looking for a fantastic upbeat celebrant, check out her site here.

Righty-O. That’s all for now. Stay tuned for Kristine and Christian’s wedding from last Saturday. We got to play at the GOMA… one of my favorite places to shoot…

And did I mention how much I love my new fisheye lens…..?!!!christiankristine-1156ab.jpg
